This activity aims to provide a practical framework for the clinical assessment and management of pelvic pain. It explores the causes of pelvic pain and outlines abdominal and pelvic examination techniques for use in general practice. It also discusses the diagnosis, management and treatment options for endometriosis, adenomyosis, ovarian cysts, vulvodynia and pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), recognising that these conditions are often present in patients with pelvic pain. The activity aims to assist GPs and health professionals to care for patients with pelvic pain effectively and confidently.
