This course was delveloped by rural GPs in response to an identified need
Through participation GP's will have gained the knowledge and enhanced specific skills related to the initial assessment & stabilisation of EM presentations
On completion GP's will have modelled the critical thinking required for the structured approach to care for the critically ill or injured patient.
By taking part a GP will be able to continue to practice and prepare for future emergency presentations with increased confidence
By completing REST the GP will bring about change in attitude and approach to emergency presentations when faced with EM situations in their normal environment
Will generate the confidence in the use of a structured approach and skills in emergency care by use of simulation scenarios on completion of the course.

scenarios that may arise in a rural and remote setting.
The Rural Emergency Skills Training (REST) program is conducted by trained
emergency medicine instructors experienced in rural general practice.
