Breastfeeding Challenges - Infant for Medical Doctors



The Breastfeeding Challenges: Infant course is part of the Breastfeeding for Health Professionals program. Upon completion the participant should be able to: Provide the theoretical concepts underpinning lactation and breastfeeding to promote application of effective clinical management and problem solving in the following subjects: identifying potential problems and how they can be prevented promoting effective management techniques for existing problems applying knowledge to seek alternative solutions, and apply all these principles to poor weight gain.
Target Audience
Any clinical or non-clinical employee of a health institution who is required to have an understanding of breastfeeding practice. This can include non-clinical staff (such as cleaners, cooks etc) through to nurses, midwives, doctors and lactation consultants.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course the participant should be able to:
- identifying potential problems and how they can be prevented
- promoting effective management techniques for existing problems
- applying knowledge to seek alternative solutions, and
- apply all these principles to poor weight gain.
