Because the main cause of faecal incontinence in RACF is constipation this session will explain why this occurs and how it can manifest. It then proceeds to explain how to prevent this condition from occurring. Includes:

- Treating constipation and the management of faecal impaction
- What to do when staff resist change

Getting the dose of analgesia correct can be difficult. It is even more complicated if a person has a dementing illness or is unconscious. This session looks at the management of analgesia in the final days of a person’s life. Includes:
