Fire Safety and Emergency Response for Nurses and Midwives

This course has been developed to provide workers who work with people with a disability with an understanding of fire safety practices and emergency procedures

Anyone who works with people with a disability.

Learning Outcomes

This online course covers the requirements under WHS Regulation 2011 and includes: 

• site emergency and evacuation plans 
• familiarisation with automated fire systems and equipment 
• evacuation and communications of emergencies in line with AS 3745 - 2010 Planning for emergencies in facilities and AS 4083 - 2010 Planning for emergencies - Health care facilities 
• the fire tetrahedron 
• fire extinguishers choice and use
