High-quality health records are critical to the provision of safe, effective and personalised patient care. They facilitate good communication with other healthcare providers, and are linked to practice accreditation and incentive programs. Despite this, maintaining health records is not always considered a priority for busy general practices.

In this webinar, GP Dr Steven Kaye reviews the features of high-quality health records, and discusses the importance of coding essential clinical data. Strategies for the effective use of GP clinical information systems are also detailed.

This event is part of Practice essentials webinar series. Events in this series are:

  • Phone and video consultations: a how-to presentation
  • Using personal mobile devices for clinical photos in general practice
  • My Health Record – an update webinar
  • Social media and the use of apps in general practice
