Hip and groin pain in athletes- what’s the latest evidence?

  • : Online

Hip/groin pain is common in active people and can result in reduced physical activity and quality of life. However, there is currently little consensus on classification, assessment, best practice management and prevention of hip/groin pain. An update of the current research on hip/groin pain and the results of the recent consensus meeting will be presented in this lecture. A discussion of evidence-based practice for clinicians managing athletes with hip/groin pain will be presented.

Presenter/s

Dr. Andrea Mosler is a Specialist Sports Physiotherapist and NHMRC Research Fellow at La Trobe University working on hip/groin pain, injury prevention, and women in sport research projects. Her PhD investigated the risk factors for hip/groin pain in professional male football players. Andrea previously worked for 18 years at the Australian Instititute of Sport, and was an Australian team physiotherapist at the 2000, 2004 and 2008 Olympics Games.
