Intercultural Communication in Aged Care - Optimising Care Through Being Aware of Language


The better we know the language and culture, the person and the situation, the better we are at optimising care through this knowledge.
Target Audience
This course is aimed at supervisory and direct care staff working in multicultural aged care environments.
Learning Outcomes
In this module we:
- consider how people’s use of language matters to safety and care
- consider how each person uses and understands language
- develop strategies for using the language of the person
- explore language beyond words.
This course can be undertaken individually, or as part of a fuller education offering in the Intercultural Communication in Aged Care Suite.
