Additional info
When teaching a GP registrar, there are a number of different teaching methods that a GP supervisor can employ. These encounters generally come under the umbrella of ‘formal’ and ‘informal’ teaching and, for example, can include direct observation, video consultation review, random case analysis and corridor teaching on the run, to name a few. When determining the ideal teaching method to employ for a particular GP registrar in a particular GP setting, it is important that the GP supervisor has an understanding of the different learning styles which may be dominant within their learner. By recognising that GP registrars can learn in different ways GP supervisors can reflect on ways to enhance learning amongst different learner cohorts.
