MCCC North West NEW Supervisor Workshop
This activity will cover a range of important topics and interactive sessions for new GP supervisors. It will include the areas of teaching and learning styles, planning for teaching, assessment and feedback techniques and giving effective feedback, as well as updates in GP supervisor policy and administration. It will aim to enable GP supervisors feel more confident in teaching within the general practice setting, with the resultant aim being a cohort of more highly capable, safe and competent GP registrars.
- Outline the breadth and complexity of the GP supervisor’s role
- To develop and use a GP Practice orientation checklist to ensure registrars understand how to seek clinical advice from their supervisor in different situations

Develop strategies for making the most of teaching and learning opportunities within your practice
- Discuss different measures of assessing GP registrar competency
- Provide feedback that is balanced, learner centred, and facilitates change
