Online Course: Management of Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome

  • : Online
Introduction

Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome (PFPS) is an umbrella term used for pain arising from the patellofemoral joint itself, or adjacent soft tissues. It is characterised by anterior knee pain but can be felt in other areas of the knee. Pain arises with activities such as stair climbing, squatting, or rising from sitting to standing. According to research some forms of therapy are effective as stand alone interventions and others should be used in combination. It is important for the therapist to have a good knowledge of which interventions are evidence based for treatment of PFPS. The course will provide you with practical advice on education, exercises, and treatment modalities for knee pain and will then focus on the specific evidence based treatment options for PFPS.
