RFDS Mortality and Clinical Case Review Meeting Series

RFDS Mt Isa holds a Clinical Meeting every month. Significant cases are discussed with respect to the clinical aspects and logistic aspects of the case. Performance in the case is compared to existing standards and protocols and also peer discussion. Learning points are explored and there is usually an educational component. Practices are changed based on the outcome of discussion.
Total lecture hours:
The Clinical Meeting is aimed at discussing and exploring the wide variety of possible factors that effect the performance of our teams in the aeromedical and prehospital environment. These factors include, clinical aspect of the case, pre-planning and telehealth, aviation and logistical considerations, pathology and aviation physiology, consultation with other services QAS, RSQ, tertiary hospitals etc and interpersonal and human factors.
Based on the particulars on the case, learning objectives are developed and discussed at the time.
Participants are not formally assessed, however, attendance is noted
