About this Course
  • Are you part of the team that needs to “go out in the ambulance”?
  • Do you and your team members know your ambulance and equipment?
  • Do you and your health personnel know about scene safety?

The CRANAplus Trauma Preparedness Course (TPC) focuses on the pre-hospital environment and is designed to prepare and upskill the remote, rural and isolated health workforce to work as a team so they may confidently respond to medical emergencies and trauma.

This course upskills primary health care and/or hospital personnel in the pre hospital early management of trauma. It includes safe extrication from vehicles and psychological education that explores ways of minimising difficult emotions that could lead to further complications if not addressed.

The Trauma Preparedness Course content can be modified according to needs of the health service.

Who is this course for?

You do not need to be a Health Professional to attend this course.

The course is designed to meet the needs of the remote, rural and isolated workforce (Nurses, all purpose Orderlies/Wardpersons/Ambulance Drivers, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioners/Workers) who may be required to provide an emergency ambulance service.

CRANAplus actively encourages a mix of health personnel to participate to promote the practice of teamwork.

These courses are delivered on an organisational basis with potential dates being provided upon application.

If you have any queries about the course or its relevance to your practice, please contact the Remote Clinical Educator Team.
