Learning Objectives

By the end of this session you will be able to:

  • Describe the ‘Comprehensive Approach’ domain of the RCGP core curriculum, Being a GP, and the learning outcomes derived from this domain
  • Describe how to simultaneously manage multiple complaints and pathologies, both acute and chronic health problems
  • List ways to promote health and well-being by applying health promotion and disease prevention strategies appropriately
  • Identify how to manage and co-ordinate health promotion, prevention, cure, care, rehabilitation and palliation

If given the opportunity, patients will usually tell you their experience of the disease process. This experience is what we call illness. Being healthy has to take account of illness and beliefs.
