This session considers leadership methods for the handling of day to day management issues.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this session you will be able to:

  • Describe how clinicians manage and organize themselves and their responsibilities
  • Discuss how priorities are determined and how management tasks fit (and may conflict) with clinical tasks
  • Explain the importance of self management and personal planning, and the impact it can have on others
  • Demonstrate your contribution to leadership by identifying how you will support improvements in the running of the department

Everyone has from time to time experienced a bad day at work. Issues can arise in any workplace with regards to structures, processes, people and workload.

Paresh Dawda,
Medical Director and Senior Research fellow

Dr. Dawda is a GP with expertise in Leadership, Quality and Patient Safety Improvement.

He graduated and completed postgraduate training mostly in London, and then combined his work as a GP Principal with Regional and National roles in quality and safety improvement. He has spoken internationally on the the subject matter and now works in a senior leadership position in Australia.

Tunji Lasoye,
Director of Medical Education & Assistant Medical Director Consultant & Honorary Senior Lecturer in Emergency Medicine

Mr Lasoye is a consultant and Honorary Senior Lecturer in Emergency Medicine. He is the Assistant Medical Director at King’s College Hospital London.

His areas of interest include Medical Education and Clinical Leadership.
