Role

Be part of a non for profit, Aboriginal co-operation improving the well-being of the local indigenous population.  You will join a professional organisation that is adding value and expanding within a community with great needs.

Stepping into this role, you will be supported immensely by a  close knit team of dedicated GP’s and aboriginal health care workers who assist you understand the subtle cultural and community sensitivities you may encounter in an Aboriginal and Community Controlled Health Service.

Practice Details:

This medical practise is an accredited, community based health service, with Medicare bulk-billing. Our multidisciplinary team provides culturally sensitive care for Aboriginal families and other residents.  Onsite services also include dental, dietetics, psychology and optometry clinics. GPs are supported by a practice nurse and 3 Aboriginal Health Workers.  You will be working in a General Practice with 3 GPs, supported by 3 aboriginal health workers.

Incorporated in 1982 this Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation (ACCO) provides a range of holistic community health and social support programs, principally to the Aboriginal community and other residents in Warrnambool and outlying areas. There are close partnership with local government, other health service providers including other Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations in the Western District of Victoria, liaising regularly on the provision of health service and social welfare and community support programs.

Located in the region of Warrnambool offers low cost living and affordable housing and is a well serviced regional hub of South West Victoria. We are surrounded by stunning coast line and bushwalking tracks with an active cycling and triathlon community.
