You will commence working in a well-established and reputed teaching clinic that has been servicing the needs of the community for over 30 years. Replacing a Doctor who has left the practice, you will begin with an already established and growing patient base. Part of your duties will include participation in an after-hours/on-call roster and holding VMO rights. The roster will see you participate with the other Doctors in the area and you will attend to 1 in 11 on-call duties. VMO rights are at the local hospital and attached nursing home which is 2 km away

To assist you to settle into the clinic and the community, you will be provided with a thorough orientation and induction program by the Practice Manager and the Senior Doctors who also mentor you towards fellowship if required.

The Package

  • 60% of billings
  • $165 on call per day, $250 for weekends and public holidays plus 80% of on-call receipts
  • % of PIP payments
  • Eligible for RLRP, RTVS, AGPT and ACRRM Independent Pathway
  • Ability to support upskilling in interested courses (Subject to availability through RWAV)
Practice Details:

An accredited teaching practice, the clinic provides teaching and mentoring to medical students from both Melbourne and Monash Universities and also to GP Registrars.

To assist you in furthering your skills and knowledge, case conferencing is available as it an ‘open door’ policy. The team of 12 Doctors are supported by a Practice Manager, 3 Practice Nurses, A dedicated Chronic Disease Management Nurse and an experienced administration team.

The practice consists of 9 consulting rooms, 2 treatment rooms and a sterilization room. Other services available include Obstetrics, Skin Cancers, Childhood Mental Health, Counselling and Vasectomies.

Fully computerised and an accredited training practice through MCCC.

Practice hours are Monday to Thursday: 9:00am – 5:30pm and Friday: 9:00am – 4:30pm

Castlemaine is located 1 and a half hours drive from Melbourne, located between the cities of Ballarat and Bendigo. Castlemaine’s historic streetscapes are a reminder of its immensely rich gold mining days, with many magnificent public buildings.
