Small Group GP practice
GP sessions with VMO and on-call 1;$ weekends and 2 week nights
Visit ninety-mile beach and the region
Required dates: 4 June – 27 July 2018
Practice hours: Monday – Friday 9:00 am – 5:30 pm with weekend clinic 9:30 am -12:30 pm (if rostered), on-call is 1:4 so one weekend and two nights per week.
Fees: $1200 per day plus VMO/on-call or 70 % billings
Clinic provides accommodation and will cover travel costs.
Role: Locum required to assist busy clinic with leave cover. VMO and on-call is 1:4 weeknights per week and 1:3 weekends to cover hospital ward rounds and some nursing home visits. The demographics of the practice are typical of many rural practices with aged care, drug and alcohol issues and maternity and child health. Currently three GPs and registrars are supported by nurse and admin team.
The Yarram Medical Centre currently being renovated is situated within the Yarram and District Health Service (YDHS) facilities. The accredited, computerised teaching practice has five consulting rooms and a state of the art treatment room. Procedures include small surgical procedures (lumps and bumps), pap smears, patient education, health promotion, lung clinic, plasters and ECG. Visiting allied health practitioners and specialists include a surgeon, physician, psychologist, optometrist, paediatrician and a female GP. GPs are supported by a practice nurse and an experienced administration team.
About Yarram: Yarram (population 2000) is at the heart of some of the most beautiful country in Gippsland and boasts many architecturally significant historic buildings. Situated between the splendour of the Ninety-Mile Beach and the beautiful Strzlecki Ranges, in an area rich in natural parks and superb scenery.It is a short drive to the coast at historic Port Albert and the renowned Wilson’s Promontory is only a one hour away. Take a scenic drive into the Strzelecki Ranges, to the heart of the Tarra Bulga National Park and follow a number of scenic trails through the rainforest. Yarram town features several historical buildings, including the landmark Regent Theatre (built in 1928) and the courthouse which now functions as a local visitor information centre and gallery.
