Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a GP wanting to assist in improving the well-being of the local indigenous population. You will join a professional organisation that is expanding and growing within a community with great needs.

This bulk billing clinic is open Monday to Friday between 8:30am to 4:30pm, closed on weekends and no VMO or after hours is required. You will be joining a small team of dedicated GP’s and nurses who will be able to provide you support in practice and also assist you understand the subtle cultural and community sensitivities you may encounter in an Aboriginal and Community Controlled Health Service.

Essential Criteria:
• AHPRA Registration – General or Specialist
• Australian GP experience (preferred)

Package:
• Wages of $110-$130 an hour
• Salary sacrifice available

Practice Details:

The Aboriginal Corporation clinic is a fully computerised practice comprising of five consulting rooms, and 2 treatment rooms. There are two other GP’s employed and supported by 2 nurses and a health worker. Other services available to assist with your treatment plans include Podiatry, Massage, Diabetes Education, Psychology, Dentistry and Substance and allied health assistance.

Portland became Victoria’s first permanent European settlement in 1834. Today it boasts more than 200 beautifully maintained heritage buildings and private residences. Whale watching is a favourite pastime for locals and tourists; Southern Right and Humpback whales visit during the winter months, and huge Blue whales during the summer.

For those who like fishing, Portland is an angler’s paradise. From a boat or the beach the range of fish that can be hooked is extensive. Portland also has some of the best surf this side of Bells Beach. The choice spots are Bridgewater Bay, the Watertower, Blacknose, Crumpets, Yellow Rock, Whites Beach and Murrells. Beginning and ending at Portland is the 250km Great South West Walk with stunning forests, river gorges, capes and beaches along the way.
