What you'll be doing

The Comprehensive Assessor is to independently and comprehensively assess the care and support needs of frail older people. A high quality person centred assessment should be conducted that will help the individual and family to achieve identified goals and outcomes.

Selection Criteria

  • Tertiary qualifications and current registration with AHPRA for Registered Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Psychologists or eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) for Social Workers or eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia (SPA) for Speech Pathologists.
  • Demonstrated ability to stay informed of current trends in Aged Care service delivery.
  • Detailed knowledge of the Australian Government, My Aged Care Assessment Manual-June 2018, the legislative requirements under the Aged Care Act 1997 and the My Aged Care Assessment and Portal User Guides.
  • Demonstrated high level of verbal and written communications skills, including developed negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team, including an ability to work across discipline boundaries and in a multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritise and organise own work.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and the use of databases relevant to ACAP.
  • Current unrestricted drivers' licence and the ability to maintain. Ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires. This may involve driving long distances.
