Full-time or locum to work across the Ngaanyatjarra Lands in Western Australia.
Provide frontline general primary health care at community health centres and residential aged care facility according to a planned schedule of visits and consistent with the Ngaanyatjarra Health Service (NHS) model of comprehensive primary health care within a multidisciplinary team care approach.
Maintain the patient record adhering to NHS clinical recording requirements including the Communicare patient information system / Medicare billing.Maintain effective professional relationships with a wide range of internal and external colleagues including remote area nurses, Aboriginal Health Practitioners, population health clinicians, pharmacists, visiting specialists and community support staff.
Participate in continuous quality improvement processes including but not restricted to the NHS clinical governance, framework AGPAL accreditation.
Participate in maintaining an epidemiological base to inform service responses and priorities including diabetes, renal, cardiovascular, mental health and related issues.
Maintain culturally appropriate practice informed by contemporary practice principles for remote comprehensive primary health care, and consultations with members of the community.
Represent NHS at public forums, and when advocating with colleagues in other services including the major acute and population health services, and aviation retrieval services.
Support the development of the NHS medical staff training and support program, and where qualified to do so supervise student and registrar placements.Undertake additional reasonable duties when requested from time to time.
Ability to travel regional, remote and interstate on unsealed roads by 4WD or by light aircraft.
