• Weekend hours per rotating roster:
• The on duty shift is 4hrs clinical work on Banksia on a Sat or Sun, this is a rotating roster, once a locum is booked this is then negotiated directly with the locum and Banksia Unit. This shift involves the registrar reviewing admitted patients over-night, and assisting nursing staff with any clinical matters of patients.

• Two full time locum positions at a senior registrar level have become available. This will be for a 3 month period with a possible extension to 6 months. Applicants will require at least 4 years of experience in psychiatry. The candidates will enjoy working with a cohesive, supportive and stable medical workforce which includes a strong complement of VMO Psychiatrists and registrars. The role involves working on a 25 bed acute psychiatric unit and with a caseload of 6-8 patients. Each registrar will be working with a fly in fly out psychiatrist who is in Tamworth 2 days a week who will be able to provide telephone supervision on the other days that they are not in Tamworth. It would be preferable if the registrar had experience in child and adolescent to occasionally assess an adolescent who may be admitted on the Paediatric ward with psychiatric symptoms, with support from a child and adolescent psychiatrist. It would be advantageous if the registrar had experience in provision of ECT and familiarity with clozapine prescription. The locum role involves weekend work for 4-5 hours on Saturday and Sunday every 5-6 weeks. It also involves one evening shift per week from 5pm -11pm.

Dates: 22/7/22 - 31/7/22

Rates: $115/ per hour negotiable with experience

Hours: 4 - 8 hours per day
