Occupational Therapist
If you’re keen to join a diverse team of positive, fun and caring occupational therapists and speech pathologists, united by our common values, we are the team for you!
Spot is an inclusive, neurodiversity affirming, airway oriented practice. We utilize relationship-based therapy approaches and we believe understanding identity is the key to meaningful occupational and well-being.
Spot Therapy Hub was founded by dual qualified Director, Kate Broderick, 19 years ago. It's been a Hub of friendship and professional development for occupational therapists at various stages in their career, for over 15 years. We welcome experienced therapists and new graduates, who can expect support with lots of early career PD, and weekly supervision.
Spot is an inclusive workplace and we celebrate diversity amongst our team. We are always listening and working hard to provide a fulfilling workplace that enables flexibility and work-life balance.
Spot is an NDIS registered service but we also have many private clients. At present we are a predominantly paediatric service, however, we do support young adults and are currently looking to grow our adult services further (for clinicians who are interested!). Our OTs work very closely with the SPs, so that we can target goals relating to regulation, communication (including AAC) and life skills, with a robust integrated approach.
If you would like to develop skills and experience in feeding therapy, this job will also be a perfect opportunity.
Spot occupational therapists are always exercising their core skills (for example, helping clients with fine and gross motor skill development, school readiness, handwriting, visual perception and self care), but we also have a reputation for more specialised offerings in areas described above: multidisciplinary care for complex clients, learning disability diagnosis and support, breathing retraining, care for those with low tone and hypermobility, and feeding. Understanding an individual's unique sensory profile also guides our therapeutic work, which always targets meaningful, functional goals.
All Spot staff have weekly supervision, with more support available to early career clinicians. We have a strong ethic towards professional development (internal and external), and hope to offer new team members a plan for career progression that they feel excited about.
If you are based in Sydney then we would welcome you at either our Randwick or Bondi Junction clinics, for a mix of clinic, home and school based services. Spot was a founding telehealth practice, over 5 years ago, so there are opportunities to work from home if you wish.
Happy to hear from therapists interested in either part time or full time work (although at this stage full time would suit us best).
Any questions, just reach out! Of course we will look at your CV, but really getting to know you is important to us so we’re happy to reply to messages or chat.
