About Calvary

Calvary Public Hospital Bruce (CPHB) is a 265 bed multi-discipline, modern healthcare facility serving the ACT community. At CPHB, our patients and their families expect a highly skilled, compassionate and dedicated workforce. Calvary staff pride themselves on ‘being for others’. The patient journey is at the centre of Calvary’s philosophy within our models of care.

About the Role

This is a unique and exciting opportunity for an experienced Psychologist/ Clinical Psychologist to work with the highly skilled team on the newly refurbished Acacia Unit. If you enjoy autonomy as well as working as part of a supportive team you will know that this combination is unusual. In this role you will provide clinical assessment and interventions to adults with complex and acute mental health illness. You will work in close consultation with multidisciplinary teams in the inpatient setting as well as with external community organisations. As an experienced psychologist, you will demonstrate a keen interest in ongoing professional development, clinical supervision and promoting professionalism and ethical standards in all areas of work. We understand that flexibility is important and so this role can be full time, part time, job shared etc. A merit list and casual pool will be developed from this round of recruitment and utilised for the next 12 months.

Calvary has a small but dedicated team of psychologists who provide services to its two mental health wards. Whilst the current opportunity is with the Adult Mental Health Unit, there may well be future capacity to work in and across other areas. Our psychologists are connected within and across disciplines for professional development, research opportunities and general networking.

The Social Work and Psychology department is committed to high quality patient care and there is a focus on continuing professional development and quality improvement. Our regular in-service learning and peer-consultation programs provide structure and support to team members and opportunities to grow in chosen areas. Professional development funding and study leave is available after 12 months.
