Registered Nurse - Team Leader JOB DESCRIPTION
Aspen Aged Healthcare, a subsidiary of Aspen Medical, is seeking a Registered Nurse – Team Leader for a full-time fixed-term contract starting ASAP until June 2022. This role will be based in Tasmania. The Registered Nurse – Team Leader will be responsible for leading a deployed team and ensuring the provision of high-level healthcare services. They will support the residents of an aged care facility as an interim measure where the facility has been impacted by COVID-19 outbreak.
The responsibilities of this role include:
- leading and supervising a deployed team to deliver effective and high-quality care
- ensuring the team provides nursing care in a safe, compassionate, and person-centred approach to the residents of an aged care facility, where the usual workforce is unavailable due to the impact of COVID-19
- complying with the agreed outbreak management measures, including diligent compliance with effective use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- conducting resident assessments and preparing care plans in consultation with the resident and relevant stakeholders
- admitting and assessing new residents and developing interim healthcare plans
- supporting residents and their families when dealing with resident clinical care needs
- reporting incidents that may occur at the facility which may impact resident care
- ensuring compliance with the national standards and Aspen Medical Clinical Governance Framework.
Experience, Qualifications, and Documentation Required:
Essential
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
- minimum of 3 years full-time relevant clinical experience in an aged care facility and/or primary health care setting
- current unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- evidence of current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), with evidence of a practical component
- current police and Working with Vulnerable People check OR preparedness to apply for same before commencing duty
- completion of the Australian Government’s online “Infection Control Training COVID-19” module and other modules as required by Aspen Medical.
