Allied Health Assistance (Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy)

This allied health course will give you the skills and knowledge to work as an Allied Health Assistant, providing therapeutic and program-related support to clients who are under the care of an allied health professional. Allied Health Professionals include physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dietitians, speech therapists and podiatrists. 

You will conduct allied health therapeutic and program-related activities under the guidance and direct, indirect or remote supervision of an allied health professional. While doing so, you will be required to identify client circumstances that need additional input from the relevant allied health professional you are working with.

Upon completion you may work as a specialist or generally across an organisation in delivery of allied health assistance services. While doing so, you may also have responsibility for supervising other allied health assistant workers.

To achieve this qualification, you must complete at least 120 hours of work placement.
