This course is designed to provide an overview of the types of data and samples that may be used in the NHS Genomic Medicine Service (GMS) throughout the process of requesting, analysing and reporting a genomic test.

Learning objectives

After completing this course, you will be able to:

  • describe how genomic samples and data are used, stored and accessed in the NHS GMS; and
  • address possible questions or concerns about data and sample use in the NHS GMS, and the implications for patients and family members.
