Dealing with Conflict course for Medical Doctors



This session considers approaches to harnessing the contributions of others and to dealing with disagreements and conflict constructively. This session supports the development of leadership in clinical settings.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this session you will be able to:
- Identify the benefits of involving others in decision-making, and appreciate associated challenges
- Consider means of involving others, and obtaining representative opinions
- Explore how conflict can arise, and examine strategies for managing and resolving conflict
- Demonstrate your contribution to leadership in the clinical setting by critically appraising your own approaches to involving others and to managing conflict
Before commencing this session you should complete these sessions in the Introductory Module:
- Introduction to Leadership and LeAD
- Introduction to Medical/Clinical Leadership Competency Framework
Peter Keane is an Education Consultant in the field of Special Educational Needs. He provides consultancy, audit, training and coaching support to a range of education and care settings, and is a Specialist Member of the Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal.
