This session describes the purpose, value and clinical methodology of pulp status diagnosis.

Learning objectives

By the end of this session you will be able to:

  • explain why diagnosis of pulpal status is required
  • identify how to achieve a diagnosis

The clinician is only able to indicate the probable state of the pulp, as many signs and symptoms can be found in non-inflamed pulps

Esma is a specialist orthodontist and an honorary lecturer of the Faculty of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

Dr Giampiero Rossi-Fedele,
Associate Professor

Giampiero qualified as a dentist in 1996 from the University of Rome “La Sapienza” in Italy. He obtained his MClinDent in Endodontology from UCL/Eastman Dental Institute in 2005 and his PhD From PUCRs in Porto Alegre, Brazil in 2013.

Giampiero has been dedicated to clinical practice, together with post-graduate education at UCL/Eastman Dental Institute and Warwick Dentistry. He is currently Associate Professor in Endodontics at The University of Adelaide, South Australia.
