Postnatal Depression course for GPs

By the end of this session you will be able to:
- Diagnose postnatal depression
- Manage postnatal depression in the community
- Appreciate the social and cultural influences on the patient
- Involve the Primary Health Care Team in the diagnosis and management of postnatal depression
Postnatal depression is a common condition in general practice, affecting 10-15% of women in the first year after delivery and more commonly in the first 6 months.
Dr Clare Etherington is a GP, trainer and tutor based in Harrow. She has a special interest in women’s health and paediatrics.
