Learning Objectives
By the end of this session you will be able to:
- Appraise, using a case study where resources are being used efficiently and inefficiently, and make recommendations for improving efficiency
- Consider the impact on patients of changes made to improve efficiency, and identify how any negative impact can be overcome
- Evaluate a local service in terms of efficient use of resources, and identify areas for improvement
- Identify cost improvement measures which have been, or which may have to be, taken in the future
- Identify any areas for personal development arising from this module
- Demonstrate your contribution to leadership in the clinical setting by identifying ways in which resources could be used more efficiently
Healthcare services strive to deliver the best quality of care for patients. Efficient use of available resources is one of the factors that contributes to the success of this.
