Experiential Learning and Adult Learning Theories: A Clinical Education Tool
As registered nurses we are often required to undertake the important role of supervising, precepting and educating members of the nursing team. Education influences professional development and clinical practice; therefore, we need tools and skills to help us with this important part of our role.
Experiential learning is a learning theory that has practical applications to the clinical environment. In this module we will break down the elements of experiential learning using examples as well as a clinically focused narrative. We will also touch on reflective practice and its role in supporting not only your learners and preceptees, but also your own professional practice.
