What is the TPP?

TPP is part of the Nursing in Primary Health Care Program (NiPHC), an Australian Government Initiative, which aims to build capacity amongst the primary health care nursing workforce.

It is a 10-month evidence-based education, support, and mentoring program for transitioning nurses new to primary healthcare. The program:

- has successfully supported over 200 nurses in the past 5+ years.

- combines practical learning from experienced mentors with evidence-based online resources.

- is specifically designed to enhance recruitment and retention efforts in primary healthcare.

What does the workplace have to do?

If your workplace(s) are located in the rural or remote region(s) and are looking to employ a recently graduated nurse, APNA can provide you with access to funded recruitment support with HealthcareLink and access to the TPP, if you are willing to:

- Offer employment for a minimum of 14 hours per week.

- Foster a supportive environment conducive to the professional development and growth of nursing staff.

This may involve:

- Providing dedicated study leave for nurses to participate in the program, using the existing workplace staff budget for CPD.

- Demonstrating ongoing interest in their progress through the program and supporting them in achieving their goals.
