PARTNERING WITH OUR CONSUMERS
Effective engagement by Tallangatta Health Service with patients, residents, clients and consumers and the broader community is integral to more transparent and improved quality and safe healthcare. We do this by:
- Engaging with consumers to work actively as partners with clinicians in their healthcare.
- Empowering local communities to have a greater say in the planning, design, delivery and evaluation of their health services.
- Monitoring for efficient and effective healthcare delivery and
- Ultimately partnering with our consumers to provide a better health service and lifestyle outcomes for our community.
At Tallangatta Health Service our strategic aspirations: “Make the greatest possible positive impact on our community’s health and develop and utilise partnerships that add value to our effort” are our guiding principles to develop a robust and sustainable community engagement strategy and framework. The THS strategic plan further guides how we embrace all opportunities with our consumers. Our consumer’s input enable us to make more informed decisions for future service planning, guide us to think critically about the models of care and service we provide, and assist us in measuring our service and evaluating our systems of care and service. This consumer centred approach changes the service delivery paradigm from one of “doing to” to that of “working with”. This is a critical cultural shift in health care and paves the way for fostering a collaborative approach to care decision making and evaluation.
Our care is relevant, safe, high quality and responsive.
Our infrastructure is planned for future needs.
Our partnering with communities cultivates connections.
Our workforce is adaptive, skilled and compassionate.
The values of Tallangatta Health Service drive our positive culture and we understand that our people are a critical component in long term success to empower people for health. We ensure our employee benefits and health and wellbeing packages are designed to support our staff, with a holistic approach to promote health physically, emotionally, financially and socially for all team members.
