As Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist you will join a busy clinical unit with a collegiate team of Specialists with strong junior doctor support. Reporting into the Director of O&G you will handle a varied case load including a high preterm delivery rate (15%) and serious maternal morbidity with diabetes mellitus, renal disease and rheumatic heart disease.
You will gain clinical exposure to indigenous health issues and high risk medical obstetrics, as well as a firsthand experience of varied and specific challenges faced in providing health care to a diverse population. There are approximately 2200 births per year.
An interest in and qualifications in diagnostic ultrasound and feto-maternal medicine will be highly regarded.
This tertiary teaching hospital holds over 360 beds and serves as the primary hospital for an estimated current population of 127,500. The hospital also serves as the referral hospital for rural and remote communities for the surrounding areas expanding the services area to 614,000 square kilometres – approximately twice the size of Victoria.
The hospital has a wide range of specialist services in Emergency Medicine, Anaesthetics, Intensive Care and Coronary Care, acute medical and surgical, Rehabilitation, Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Mental hHealth.

To be successful in obtaining this position you must have FRANZCOG and have current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
