As Staff Specialist Obstetrician & Gynaecologist you will be joining a very busy Gynaecological service for Outpatients and Surgeries. As part of your role you will be involved in elective, emergency theatre and acute on call; you will also provide support to the outreach clinic as well as inpatient care and privately referred outpatient consultancy/ procedural service.
Currently the department is staffed with 1 Staff Specialist and 2 VMO’s along with stable junior support including 1 Senior Registrar, 4 Registrars, 1 RMO and Medical students on rotation; on call is 1:4. On average the hospital delivers approximately 1000 births per year.
You will be working in a hospital that has 348 treatment spaces and is the major Rural Referral Hospital providing services to the North West of NSW. It services a local community of 60,000 and a referral community of 150,000. It conducts over 8,100 surgical procedures per annum. Its emergency department is one of the busiest non-metro emergency departments in NSW with approximately 42,000 presentations per annum.
The acute services building you will have the pleasure of working in is a recently opened, $220 million facility with 5 theatre spaces plus more built with future growth in mind.
