IVF Counsellor

Our team of experienced psychologists play a crucial role in offering personalised guidance and assistance to individuals and couples navigating the complexities of infertility and reproductive health.
Position Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and skilled IVF Psychologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have tertiary qualifications in Psychology and possess specialised knowledge in infertility and reproductive grief and loss. The IVF Psychologist will provide one-on-one counselling sessions to our clients, offering psychological support, coping strategies, and guidance tailored to their unique needs and circumstances.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct one-on-one counselling sessions with clients undergoing fertility treatments.
- Provide psychological support and guidance to individuals and couples with the emotional challenges of infertility and reproductive health issues.
- Assist clients in decision-making, managing partner and family pressure, and coping with grief and loss.
- Address issues related to sexual health, relationship dynamics, and stress management during fertility treatment.
- Offer referrals to appropriate support services as needed.
- Understand the role of genetics: If opting for IVF (with a donor egg/donor sperm or surrogacy).
Qualifications and Experience:
Tertiary qualifications in Psychology
Registration with Ahpra - Essential
Registration with ANZICA - Possibility to upskill through our training program
Previous experience in counselling, preferably in the field of infertility or reproductive health.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
An empathetic and compassionate approach to client care.
Ability to work independently and as a part of a multidisciplinary team.
