Optometrist

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an Optometrist in Mackay, QLD. The Optometrist will perform eye examinations, diagnose vision problems and eye diseases, prescribe eyeglasses and contact lenses, and provide other vision services as needed.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Bachelor of Optometry degree or equivalent
• Current registration as an Optometrist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
• Experience with eye examinations, vision tests, and diagnosing vision and eye problems
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to explain complex medical issues to patients of all ages
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and keeping up to date with advances in optometry and vision science
• Experience with children's vision and contact lenses is desirable
