About Progress Pathways:

Established at the start of 2022, Progress Pathways set out with two goals:

  • Give kids more opportunities to thrive.
  • Become the best place for allied health professionals to work.
  • We have maintained our dedication to these goals.

Over our first two years we have built a collaborative team of eight excellent therapists (4 OTs / 4 Speechies) to support our rapidly growing client base of children aged 0-12. These therapists share a belief in family-centred care, good communication and identifying and addressing the ‘why’ behind a child’s presentation.

We've put a lot of thought into the way we work and how to make it better for everyone. We've got some guiding principles we all use to create a more harmonious workplace such as using intelligent communication and embracing play every day (we'll talk more about these in the interview, or you can have a look at them on our website).

We are a collaborative tight-knit team, shown by our very low staff turnover of 0% over the last 18 months.

Our people love the ongoing training and work/life balance, not to mention our fun team activities.  Over the past year, we’ve visited Escape Rooms, held karaoke nights, ping pong battles, dance classes and cruised along the Brisbane River, all while indulging in our love for Mexican food and celebrating life's milestones together.

    About The Role:

Our current team member in this role has accepted a promotion to lead our new team in our new Burleigh Heads venue. You will be offering continued support to the families she is currently working with. The caseload is predominantly 2 - 12 year olds, with a mix of presentations including speech sound disorders, expressive and receptive language difficulties, Gestalt language processors, literacy difficulties and feeding challenges.

With the support of Jane Oswell, our Senior Speech Pathologist with 20 years experience, you will have the scope to develop skills in these areas, or build the caseload to include your specific interest areas.

Under the guidance of our Senior Speech Pathologist + Practice Lead, you'll be instrumental in:

    • Understanding the needs of the families you work with.

    • Performing comprehensive assessments.

    • Creating and implementing tailored therapy plans that allow for the development and progress of each child.

    • Building effective meaningful relationships with their families.

We give you a lot of autonomy in what you do. You can design the times and shifts that suit you and work in a range of settings including our well-equipped clinic, local educational environments, home visits, and Delta Gym. We’ll support you with an unlimited training budget, so you can continually grow and develop, plus provide future career opportunities (as we promote predominantly from within) as we expand the business.

    A typical day might involve:

    • You might start your day at the clinic, spending the first half hour setting up for your day and checking in with your teammates.
    • You could then support a couple of clients and their families with tailored therapy in a spacious and well-equipped therapy room.
    • Between 12:00 - 12:30pm we have a shared team lunch. Enjoy taking a break while chatting with your team. We have a “no laptops on the table” rule during this time.
    • After lunch, you might head out on a local school or kindy visit, prepare for some upcoming sessions, or have supervision.
    • You might then support  a couple more clients in the afternoon before wrapping up for the day and leaving on time!

Progress Pathways is committed to diversity and inclusion, both in the families we serve and within our team. You might be an experienced professional looking for better working conditions or a more diverse caseload. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has excelled in the past and is looking for a new role in a fast-growing, supportive, innovative company.

To Be Successful in This Role You Need:
    • Proven Experience: A minimum 4 year history of supporting children aged 0-12 in a therapeutic setting, with a preference for candidates who have demonstrated the ability to adapt therapy to meet the unique needs of each child.

    • Registration: Current registration with Speech Pathology Australia as a Speech Pathologist, with eligibility to work in Queensland, Australia.

    • Strong communication, relationship-building and collaboration skills: Examples from past roles demonstrating your excellent interpersonal skills, ability to build meaningful relationships with children, families, and team members, and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

    • A demonstrated commitment to continual improvement and learning, as evidenced by regular personal and professional development in past roles.

    • Commitment to diversity and inclusion: A past history of welcoming and valuing diversity of both clients and other team members.

    • Driver's License and access to your own vehicle: While this role doesn't have a lot of travel, we do support some families in a educational environment and it is necessary for you to be able to drive and have access to a vehicle for this role.
