Distinguished Research Professor Emeritus of Philosophy and Psychology, internationally celebrated speaker, thinker, writer, and CEO of The MEHRIT Centre, Professor Stuart Shanker is one of the world’s leading authorities on emotional self-regulation. Possums & Co. Conference Presenter – Professor Helen Ball

Renowned Professor in Human Biology and Biological Anthropology, Helen Ball, established the Parent-Infant Sleep Lab at Durham University in 2000 and pioneers the study of infant sleep and the parent-infant sleep relationship from a biopsychosocial perspective. Professor Ball will be presenting on “Changing baby sleep conversations - the role of the Durham Infancy Sleep Centre (DISC) and Baby Sleep Information Source (Basis).

Possums & Co. Conference Presenter – Associate Professor (Adj) Pamela Douglas

Possums’ Founder and Medical Director, Dr. Pamela Douglas, has been a GP since 1987, and developed the Neuroprotective Developmental Care (NDC) approach, or Possums programs, out of her clinical experience and 20 years of research with various Australian and international teams. We are excited to announce that Dr. Douglas will be presenting on three topics at our online Conference:

“Is it normal for babies to cry and fuss a lot in the first months of life? A review of the evidence”;

“A preliminary case series shows that a brief gestalt intervention changes ultrasound measures of tongue movement during breastfeeding, comparable to ultrasound changes measured post-frenotomy” and

“Why is basic health professional knowledge about tongue shape during suckling part of a holistic NDC approach to family well-being and infant development?” 

Possums & Co. Conference Presenter – Professor Anne Buist

Professor Anne Buist is the Chair of Women’s Mental Health at the University of Melbourne and has thirty years clinical and research experience in perinatal psychiatry, including perinatal medicolegal work for Protective Services, Children’s, Family and Criminal courts. We are delighted Professor Buist will feature at our online Conference as she presents “Fact and Fiction: Assessing and Writing Reports on Parenting in Women with a Perinatal Mental Illness”.
