Dealing with Stress course for Allied Health
This session aims to identify the tools, techniques and support that can be used to help manage stress. This session supports the development of leadership in clinical settings.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this session you will be able to:
- List a range of tools and techniques for managing stress, and determine the circumstances in which they may best be used
- Identify those tools and techniques which may be relevant to the workplace
- Demonstrate your contribution to leadership by identifying ways in which you will minimise work placed stress
Before commencing this session you should complete these sessions in the Introductory Module:
- Introduction to Leadership and LeAD
- Introduction to Medical/Clinical Leadership Competency Framework
You should also complete:
- (MLE) Effective Management in Healthcare/(CLE) Demonstrating Personal Qualities: Understanding Stress
Juliet has a BSc (Hons) in Health Sciences, and a PGCE in Further and Adult Education.
Juliet worked for 10 years teaching GCSE and A level health and social care, she then became a part-time freelance consultant working primarily for the Learning Skills Network, training teachers how to teach health and social care.
Juliet then joined the Northern Deanery in an educational advisory role in June 2008. Her main remit is to develop the training skills of Northern Deanery doctors and dentists. She has quality managed and developed both online and face-to-face training and is currently working on the refinement of the faculty e-learning portfolio (FELP) to enable trainers to track and plan their continual professional development as educators.
