Exciting opportunity for GPs to join an innovative and forward thinking team in Toowoomba. 
 
The purpose built facility houses a fantastic Health Precinct including Xray, Pathology, Pharmacy, Dental, Physio and Psychology! Free onsite parking for Doctors and a great café for coffee and lunch. Medical centre is a well-established Practice with mixed-billing, fully accredited with QPA and for GP training. Modern facilities with considerable patient base, nurse support, onsite Site Manager and excellent administration staff. Owned and operated by GPs for Patients and their family of Doctors and Staff. They value and support GPs encouraging special areas of interest.

Position Description
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
Clinical Medical Services: 

  • Triage patients in the surgery and over the phone
  • Assessment and appropriate management of patients
  • Provide therapeutic care ​​​​​​
  • Perform procedures in line with practice policies 
  • Record appropriate contemporaneous notes
  • Provide Prescription and referral service
  • Participate in and complete processes for the practice Recall and Reminder systems

Patient Services:

  • Network with other service providers.
  • Plan, manage and coordinate care of individual patients
  • Act as an advocate for patients
  • Refer annual health assessments, case conferences, care plans, medication reviews, asthma/diabetes/mental health plans and insurance medicals to usual doctor.
  • Provide nursing home care, home and hospital visits as required.
  • Provide appropriate after hours, palliative and emergency care.

Well Being:

  • Promote patient, carer and community well being through the provision of local and internal health information

Prevent Ill Health:

  • Enhance the management and prevention of ill health through health screening, immunisation, patient educatio

Administration:

  • Ensure all recording and reporting meets current legal and accreditation requirements
  • Be familiar with billing procedures.

Training and Development:

  • Attend lectures, seminars and educational activities to meet ongoing medical educational requirements.
  • Provide education and on-the-job training to medical students and GP registrars.
  • Involvement in medical trials and practice audits if requested

Workplace Health and Safety:

  • Perform manual handling in accordance with the ‘Code of practice for manual handling” 
  • Adhere to safe work practices and use safety equipment when appropriate
  • Manage the clinical environment so that it promotes safety, security and optimal health
  • Minimise infection by having a clean work environment.

After Hours - Yes, Saturday morning roster shared of 1:8 weeks from 8.30am - 12.30pm. 

Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge:

Knowledge and Experience

  • Registration with AHPRA and a current provider and prescriber number.
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners or ACRRM
