Hope Allied Health Services is expanding its service offering & reach, with a new Allied Health Clinic in Blacktown opening late last year & new offices in WA & VIC. This role is specifically for a paediatric Occupational Therapist who will be required to work with children up to the age of 18 years. Our experienced and dedicated team are committed to assisting our staff reach their full potential. We are a transdisciplinary team who offer our clients a combination of clinic and mobile based therapy services. Our clinic is located in Blacktown CBD with accessible parking. You will have access to flexible working hours, weekly supervision and dedicated admin time. You will also have the opportunity to expand on your skill set if you wish. These opportunities will include developing your competencies in completing functional capacity assessments to the paediatric population.

Role Description

Part-time or full-time options will be considered for the right Occupational Therapist candidate. The role is predominantly clinic based with one day a week mobile therapy service requirements. The Occupational Therapist will be responsible for providing assessments and interventions to clients aged 0-18 years, with a range of conditions. The majority of our children are neurodivergent and have associated intellectual delays, therefore knowledge & experience with working these individuals is paramount.

A suitable candidate for this role will need experience working with neurodivergent children (Children who are autistic, ADHD & have specific learning disabilities and Developmental Coordination Disorders). You will be expected to develop and implement treatment plans, provide education to clients and their families, collaborate with other healthcare professionals and mentor and supervise allied health assistants.

Qualifications & Role Requirements

  • Qualified and registered Occupational Therapist with current registration with AHPRA
  • NDIS Workers Screening Check
  • Current First Aid Certification
  • Working with children's Check
  • National Police Clearance
  • Experience in conducting various standardised and assessments and developing individualized treatment plans related to the paediatric population.
  • Strong knowledge of occupational therapy principles and techniques with paediatric experience and strong clinical reasoning skills.
  • Sound understanding of neurodiversity affirming practices with up to date knowledge and willingness to keep up to date with evidence-based practice.
  • Experience delivering play-based early interventions services.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a transdisciplinary team
  • Excellent time management, organisational and problem solving skills to enable you to manage your caseload and efficiently complete documentation and report writing requirements.
  • Proficient in documenting client progress and maintaining accurate records
  • Proficient report writing skills with the ability to meet report writing deadlines
  • Valid driver's license.
