Salary: $100K to $129K per annum + super + Bonus

Location: Thomastown, Craigieburn, Templestowe Lower, Remote or Community based (flexible arrangement)

Our client is a leading all-in-one allied health practice with structured career development paths. We offer dedicated Wellness and Community streams catering to diverse client needs – from athletes to wellness enthusiasts and adult and child NDIS participants.

 

Due to the exciting growth, they currently have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and driven senior / team leader speech therapist to join their team. In this role, you will have the choice of working on and off site to manage your own caseload. You will also have the choice of working on and off site to manage your own case load. You will also You will possess strong clinical and leadership skills with the ability to follow through as well as the ability to co-manage clients with different health professionals in a team environment. 

 

As the Team Leader, you will oversee the management our diverse Speech pathology team here. As well as supporting them you will be responsible for a small clinical caseload consisting of complex clients of varied ages and presentations.  

 

Your role as team leader will involve you ensuring the delivery of evidence-based speech pathology services within the organisation.  

You will: 

  • Be responsible for implementation of the policy and procedures relating to your team and therapy delivery for all our speech pathology clients 
  • Provide advice on policy implementation and needs-based resources in the related to language pathology services  
  • Contribute to the development of programs, policies, operational standards and procedures to support speech pathology services in our organisation 
  • Provide supervision, leadership, and support to speech pathologists  
  • You will report to the Head of Allied Health, and seek advice where needed for the ongoing management and development of the speech pathology team and the services they provide.  

 

As the Senior Speech Pathologist, you will oversee the management our diverse Speech pathology team. As well as supporting them you will be responsible for a small clinical caseload consisting of complex clients of varied ages and presentations. You will have responsibility for the following:  

  • Provide leadership and clinical supervision to speech pathologists in the delivery of safe, effective high-quality services. 
  • Provide opportunities for supervising sessions conducting by members of your speech pathology team 
  • Direct and support speech language pathologists in assessing speech pathology requirements and identifying appropriate responses and interventions  
  • Oversee the research, development, implementation and evaluation of validated clinical practices, policies and protocols relating to the practice of speech pathology services  
  • Monitor and report on performance across speech language pathology services within the organisation including service quality and active KPI targets set out by the organisation. 
  • Identify professional development needs and proactively plan, implement and evaluate clinical supervision, training and development initiatives for speech language pathologists. 
  • Maintain your own clinical caseload of complex clients who are not able to be seen by the members of your speech pathology team 
  • Be actively involved in the hiring and maintaining of staff within your speech pathology team

  • Advanced remote practice: All software is cloud-based. Our clinics are paperless. A comprehensive Intranet is loaded with clinical resources and collaboration platforms so that you can stay connected wherever  you are. Automation is in place to reduce tedious tasks. 
  • Interest groups: Select the mixed or specific caseload that suits you. Options include young paeds, adolescent, disability, aged care and home mods.
  • Community access: A work car is provided for travelling from a clinic to community consults. Travel reimbursement is provided to practitioners who prefer to use a personal car. 
  • Clinic-only caseload: For practitioners who don’t enjoy community visits, we can provide a clinic-only caseload.

 

Essential Criteria: 

  • Certified Practising Member of Speech Pathology Australia
  • Possession of a degree in speech pathology from a recognised tertiary institution 
  • Experience working with NDIS participants, able to work with diverse clients 
  • Ability to coach and train speech pathology graduates in assessments, report writing and treatment plans 
  • Experience in independently providing speech pathology consultations 
  • Experience in a range of speech pathology assessments 
  • Strong etiquette, communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Excellent ability to set and follow treatment schedules and manage deadlines 
  • Goal-oriented with strong leadership skills 
  • Recognise professional expertise and knowledge in the delivery of speech pathology services with a focus on implementation of frameworks and processes  
  • Achieves results 
  • Supports productive working relationships 
  • Displays personal drive and integrity 
  • Communicates with influence 
  • Demonstrated advanced ability to communicate, negotiate, advocate and develop professional and operational partnerships to ensure the efficient provision of quality speech language pathology services.
