Earbus Foundation is an award-winning not-for-profit seeking a Speech Pathologist to fill a key position in our passionate and experienced clinical and leadership teams.

Our mission is to reduce the incidence of middle ear disease in Indigenous and at-risk children in Western Australia below the World Health Organisation benchmark of 4%. We will achieve this via our established Outreach programs, which demonstrate excellence in Aboriginal health.

Our Vision is that current and future generations of Indigenous children can succeed at school unhindered by the debilitating effects of Otitis media and its impacts upon their ability to learn and achieve to their full potential. POSITION

We are currently seeking a dynamic and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in assessing and treating communication disorders across CALD populations. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals and families while working in a supportive and collaborative environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop a broad school-based intervention strategy and program for children affected by Otitis Media. The aim is to have a program that can be delivered in person or remotely from Perth.
  • Develop an evaluation program for teachers to measure the difference in skills and abilities.
  • Evaluate Earbus processes and procedures relating to clinical visits and standards relating to quality of care.
  • Ensure that there is a comprehensive system for identifying any risks to following processes and procedures and develop systems to mitigate these risks.
  • Work as part of the Leadership team to ensure programs are delivered in accordance with our Values.
  • Provide some direct therapy services to clients as needed.
  • Collaborate with clients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to establish functional communication goals and facilitate progress towards achieving them.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of evaluation findings, treatment plans, progress notes, and communication with stakeholders.
  • Stay current with advancements in the field of speech-language pathology through continuing education and professional development activities.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Strong clinical skills in assessing and treating communication disorders and populations in paediatric populations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Passionate about helping families within a client-centred framework.

DESIRABLE:

  • Prior experience working within Aboriginal Australian communities

· Ten years + experience working as a Speech-Language Pathologist

  • Previous experience working with children in an educational setting
  • Community Health experience
  • 4WD experience or advanced driver safety course/experience
