Expansion of quality indicators in aged care

  • The Department of Health and Aged Care expands the National Aged Care Mandatory Quality Indicator Program (QI Program) in in-home and residential aged care in Australia.
  • Under the QI Program, residential aged care providers need to report on care’s crucial areas for the quality and health outcome improvement of the elderly people.
  • The program includes four quality indicators for residential aged care and five indicators for in-home aged care.
  • Measures of quality of life and consumer experience are also included.
