Entry Requirements / Prerequisites

Before commencing this session you should have:

  • basic experience of dental practice
  • completed the e-Den session 1 Patient assessment/Assessment methods and techniques/Performing an extra-oral and facial examination

Intra-oral examination is an essential part of analysing a patient's presenting complaint. The nature of the presenting condition, and signs of underlying medical conditions, may be identified by thorough clinical examination.

Nicholas Goodger,
Consultant Surgeon

Nicholas Goodger qualified from London University in 1985 in dentistry and 1994 in medicine. He is a consultant in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the Kent and Canterbury Hospital and is also co-medical director of the Kent and Medway Cancer Network.

His main interest is in head and neck malignancy, both oral cavity and skin cancer.
