PixCell’s HemoScreen Devices to be Developed in NSW Pathology Department for Point-of-Care Testing

Published By HealthcareLink , 3 years ago

PixCell Medical, a creator of a rapid diagnostic product, announced its partnership with the NSW government as its HemoScreen hematology device to be deployed in the NSW Pathology department. The device will improve the rapid diagnostic of Complete Blood Count (CBC) for point-of-care testing.

Over the past year, PixCell coordinated closely with the NSW Health Pathology to figure out how HemoScreen could be integrated into the systems of the department. The public pathology service provider announced that the point of care testing technology is ready for deployment across New South Wales.

What’s it about

HemoScreen will allow the use of POCT through an Internet of Things approach. It will be used in terms of operation and electronic result delivery that promises a more suitable alternative and transportability while ensuring core lab-quality results. Aside from Sweden and Denmark, Australia will be the first country to deploy HemoScreen devices that will soon be operating across the State of New South Wales.

The collaboration includes the installation of HemoScreen devices in healthcare units across the state. This will guarantee the full, 5-part differential CBC test. Primarily, NSW Health Pathology will be deploying the said devices in small laboratories and other departments. Moving forward, the devices will be set in oncology clinics and other medical settings with appropriate advancements or upgrades in the future.

Larger Trend

NSW Health Pathology has been making major progress in terms of improving its POCT capability for NSW’s residents. In 2019, NSW Pathology partnered with Microsoft to develop a POCT that allows patients to be tested anywhere. The device is the first of its kind.

Avishay Bransky, CEO and co-founder of PixCell Medical said that increasing the accessibility of POC diagnostic is part of the need to simplify real-time blood testing. She added that the HemoScreen device delivers accurate readings and is valuable for routinely checking the overall health status of the patient.
