Exercise Physiologist – Contract, hourly rate - $45/hr.

Flipper Academy is a business that offers group water-based therapy, in a supportive environment, that aims at combining learning to swim and gross motor skills to improve the physical development of children who would otherwise struggle in the current mainstream environments. Flipper Academy programs are Physiotherapy led and tailored to individuals with a variety of needs that have water therapy and learn to swim goals. In addition, our Director at Flipper works with leading physicians at the Women's and Children's Hospital, which is well renowned for its unique and high quality health approach , regarded highly in our state. At Flipper we assist our children to achieve their goals , and develop their needs through our programs.

These goals include:

• Water safety and drowning prevention
• Development of gross motor skills
• Swimming strokes · Development of fine motor skills · Our group-based approach also helps children in our program, achieve other goals such as social skills and communication.

Given the growth in our business, we are seeking an Exercise Physiologist to join our team to continue to provide these vital services to our clients. Responsibilities

Successful applicants must be able to demonstrate these essential skills required for the role:

• Minimum 1-2 years or more experience practicing as an Exercise Physiologist
• Registered with AHPRA
• Experience in working with children in any capacity and/or children with a disability
• Passion for working with children and helping children with their exercise and development goals.
• Excellent communication skills with clients to facilitate successful outcomes and achievement of their goals.
• Demonstrated ability of successfully being able to interact with children across varying degrees of communication and understanding.
• Current NDIS workers check.
• Current working with children check.
• Working rights within Australia.

Desirable but not essential skills include the following:

• Experience working with the paediatric population in a clinical setting (land or water)
• Experience providing Hydrotherapy services
• Undertaken swimming instructing or Autism swim courses
• Experience working within the NDIS framework

Qualifications

• Registered with AHPRA
• Current NDIS workers check.
• Current working with children check.
